How Wind Turbines Work and Why They Create Renewable Energy

Wind turbines are machines that turn the natural movement of air into electricity, which can then be used to power homes, schools, businesses, farms, and many other places. A wind turbine works because wind has energy. Wind is moving air, and anything that moves has kinetic energy.
